FC Dallas takes Zach Loyd from North Carolina in MLS SuperDraft 1st round

FC Dallas selected Zach Loyd from North Carolina with its first round pick in the 2010 MLS Superdraft. The pick was the 5th overall. This season he moved back to defense to help cover for an injury riddled defense and performed wonderfully. It will be seen if FC Dallas uses him in defense or moves him back into the midfield.
Zach was the team captain for the Tar Heels this year as they advanced to the NCAA College Cup before being eliminated by Akron in penalty kicks. He was a first team all america selection by both Soccer America, College Soccer News and the NSCAA.
FC Dallas will next select in the 2nd round at #22 overall before having two third round picks at #s 38 and 44 overall.
