Dallas Cup XXXI Super Group set

Published 2/3/2010 3:38:15 PM by staff from dallas

The Dallas Cup XXXI Super Group is complete and what a tournament it should be this year!  The Super Group is expanding from 12 to 16 teams and will include youth national teams from Japan, Mexico and the United States.  English Premier League giants Tottenham and Chelsea will send squads and Germany will be represented by Einthracht Frankfurt and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Cruzeiro returns from Brazil along with Mexican sides CF Monterrey, Tigres and CD Guadalajara.  Deportivo Alajuelense will represent Costa Rica while a Vancouver Whitecaps side that made a great run last year will also return.  Rounding out the 16 teams will be American sides FC Dallas, Dallas Texans and CZ Elite from California.

The three youth national sides should really spice up Dallas Cup XXXI.  Japan, Mexico and the US squads will showcase players (born in 1991 and 1992) that they have identified for the Under 20 FIFA World Cup in Colombia in 2011.
