SMU falls in overtime at South Carolina

SMU dropped a heartbreaker Wednesday evening losin in overtime at South Carolina in a Conference USA match. After a scoreless opening half the match really opened up in the second half of play. SMU jumped on the board first via a goal from Josue Soto.
SMU held the lead until the final 5 minutes of regulation when a wild finish ensued. South Carolina get the game tied in the 85th on a goal from Sam Arthur, but Dane Saintus put SMU right back in front only a minute later. With only 90 seconds left to play Will Traynor tied the match once again sending the game to overtime.
In the overtime period, Jeff Scanella notched the winner and South Carolina escaped with a 3-2 victory. The loss drops SMU to 1-2-1 in Conference USA play while South Carolina moved to 2-0-1. Next up for SMU is a game at Tulsa next Wednesday.
