Region III Premier League - North Texas Girls strong after 2 weekends

Published 9/4/2007 9:17:55 PM by staff from dallas

The girls teams from North Texas are off to a solid start after the first two weekends of Region III Premier League play.  Some teams have already run out to strong starts such as Dallas Texans 93 winning all four matches.  Polaris 92 have won all 5 of their opening games while Sting 90 also already have 5 wins to their credit.

Under 14 girls -
Solar Red has jumped to the top of the table with 10  points from 4 matches thus far and a nice 16-1 goal differential.  Everyone else in the league suffered at least one defeat already except Lonestar frmo South Texas but they were only able to grab a pair of ties.  There is still a ton to earn in this group as the next round pits South Texas against Oklahoma.

Under 15 girls -
Dallas Texans Red 93 are the only squad without a blemish in this age group winning all 4 matches thus far.  FC Dallas sits second grabbing 3 wins and a tie with Solar close behind with 3 wins.  Lonestar 93 looks to be the only non North Texas team able to challenge for a top 4 spot.  Otherwise we could easily see the North Texas squads grabbing all 4 top spots here.

Under 16 girls -
Polaris 92 have run out with 5 wins to open play, but Dallas Texans are in the chase winning all 3 of their matches.  Both Stings squads look to be in big trouble with Sting White pretty much eliminated early on from the chase.  This group looks to be a two team race unless one of the out of staters can pull an upset or two.

Under 17 girls -
All 4 North Texas squads have jumped to the top and look to be the class of the league. Only a couple of the South Texas teams (Classics Elite and Lonestar) look to be challengers to get into the 4 North Texas teams.  The group still has all to play for as its tight at the top with FC Dallas on 13, Dallas Texans on 12 and Sting on 10 having played one less match.  Solar also sits on 10 but has played more games than anyone.

Under 18 girls -
Sting 90 has jumped out fast with 5 wins and a dominant 17-1 goal differential.  Edmond SC Black is strong and should provide a challenge having 2 wins from 2 games thus far.  TSC Challenge also performed well in Dallas last weekend and could fit into the picture as more games are played.  Otherwise, pretty much everyone else in the age has already suffered blemishes on their record.
