SMU's da Silva and Cruz named preseason all conference

The SMU mens soccer team placed two on the Conference USA 2009 Preseason All Conference squad in Paulo da Silva and Leone Cruz. Paulo da Silva will enter his senior season with high hopes as he was also named to the College Soccer News All America Team. The only question is can he stay healthy which Paulo has been unable to do over his SMU career playing only 18 games over the last two years.
Junior Leone Cruz looks to anchor the SMU backline this year. He played in 16 last season scoring 3 goals from the back. SMU opens their season September 4 at the Tulsa Tournament facing off against #3 ranked Akron before closing out the weekend against Seattle University. The home opener is September 18th against Bradley.
