Richardson Pearce girls take care of Frisco Wakeland 3-0

Maddie Harper marked her return from a hamstring injury with a goal in the sixth minute of Richardson Pearce's 3-0 win over Frisco Wakeland in a Class 4A Region II semifinal Friday afternoon at Standridge Stadium. Taylor Mathews' curling corner kick set up Harper's 7-yard header.
"It felt so good to be able to play and get that goal," said Maddie Harper, who wore an ice bag on the injured leg after the match.
The junior defender sat out her team's regional quarterfinal win. Pearce added goals in the first 14 minutes by Molly Hummel and Rikki Hirschowitz. Pearce (23-1-2) will meet Longview (22-3-3) in the Region II title game at 11 a.m. today. Longview advanced with a 3-0 win over Lindale.
