The North Texas womens soccer team is mired in a three game losing streak after falling to Ohio State and Xavier over the weekend. After dropping a disappointing 1-0 loss to Prairie View A&M last weekend the ladies embarked on a challenging trip up north this weekend.
Friday showed a difficult match with Big Ten power Ohio State and it was pretty much a total domination as the Lady Buckeyes outshot North Texas 16-3. Two first half goals would stand up as Ohio State ran out 2-0 winners.
Sunday showed another difficult test at Xavier. This time North Texas was up to the task being the better team for long stretches of the game and outshooting Xavier 18-5. Unfortunately the offensive woes continued as the team was unable to get one in the net on the day. A 13th minute goal from Leslie Boersma of Xavier would provide the difference and North Texas went on to their third straight shutout loss.
The team returns home for two league matches next weekend facing Louisiana Lafayette and Louisiana Monroe in Denton.
