Nine Locals Named Parade All Americans

Nine local boys and girls were named to the 2008 Parade All America High School Soccer Teams led by Jared Jeffrey who was named Boys Player of the Year.

Girls -
Four local girls were named Parade All Americans, Melissa Henderson, Kim Castleberry, Courtney Barg and Ashley Rape were awarded the prestigous title.  Castleberry is only a junior while the other three are seniors and heading to top ranked college programs in the fall.  Ashley Rape will be heading to play for Duke, while Melissa Henderson and Barg will head to Notre Dame.

Boys-
Five North Texas boys were named to the 2008 Parade All American squad.  Jared Jeffrey took top honors and was named 2008 Boys Player of the Year.  Jeffrey is a member of the US Under 17 National Team and has signed a professional contract to play for Club Brugge in Belgium.  Others named to the team were a pair of Solar SC players Hunter Jumper and Kaoru Forbes.  Jumper will be playing for Virginia beginning in the fall while Forbes will attend ACC rival Maryland.  Greg Garza of Colleyville and Ian Kalis from the US Under 17 squad were also honored as an 2008 All Americans.

The TCU womens soccer team notched a 3-1 conference victory over New Mexico at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium behind a pair of goals from Jordan Calhoun. The game was played in front of 919 spectators and was the conference opener for TCU. Read More
