Kenny Cooper named to Gold Cup roster

FC Dallas striker Kenny Cooper has been named to the 30 man preliminary roster for the upcoming Gold Cup to be played across the United States in July. The roster will be trimmed to 23 over the next couple of weeks. Cooper joins forwards Jozy Altidore, Conor Casey, Charlie Davies and Jeremiah White on the preliminary squad.
If Cooper makes the final squad (which he should), he could miss two FC Dallas matches while away. He would miss the July 4th match against New York Red Bull and the July 11th game at Colorado.
Kenny Cooper will be looking to add to his tally of two international goals. He has scored against Denmark and Guatemala for the US National Team. The US opens Gold Cup play on July 4th in Seattle, Washington against Grenada. Then plays Honduras on July 8 and Haiti July 11th.
