TCU's incoming 10-member recruiting class recently earned its first honor, as Soccer Buzz Magazine tabbed the Horned Frogs' class as the No. 1 in the Mountain West Conference.
The ranking by the publication is the highest in school history for TCU and head coach Dan Abdalla, who will enter his third season in 2007. Ranking second in the league was Utah's class, while San Diego State was ranked third after having the top class in the league each of the last three seasons.
TCU's 2007 recruiting class spans five states and includes Chelsea Cody (Putnam City HS), Kaylie Garcia (Putnam City North HS) and Kelsey Walters (Putnam City North HS) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jenna Hayes of Longmont, Colo. (Niwot HS), Tara Magdos (Sierra Vista HS) and Cheryl Martin (Spring Valley HS) of Las Vegas, Bree Marshall of Monument, Colo. (Lewis Palmer HS), Julia Slater of Richardson, Texas (Plano East HS), Katie Taylor of Escondido, Calif. (Mission Hills HS) and Jackie Torda of Colleyville, Texas (Nolan Catholic HS).
TCU, which concluded its spring exhibition season this past week will open the regular season on Aug. 31 at Texas at 7 p.m.
