A surprising opening weekend to say the least as the #2 North Texas Strikers and #3 Dallas Texans Red both failied to advance.

The only real surprise here is River Plate slipping up in group play. Otherwise it was business as usual for the dominant Dallas Texans Red and a resurgent Solar side.

Pretty much went to form as 3 of the top 4 seeds advanced to the semifinals as Dallas Texans Red, DFW Tejanos and Solar Red pushed through. The biggest surprise of the tournament however has to be lower end D2 side Ayses Gold sneaking up and beating Andromeda and taking group D.

Solar cruised as expected but Group B held a surprise as Dallas Texans West knocked out Dallas Texans Red. The other surprise saw little know West Texas United grab the wildcard spot.

The TCU womens soccer team notched a 3-1 conference victory over New Mexico at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium behind a pair of goals from Jordan Calhoun. The game was played in front of 919 spectators and was the conference opener for TCU.
