Dallas Classic League U14 Boys Fall Review

Published 12/15/2006 9:03:53 AM by Soccer Xpert Staff from Dallas, Texas U.S.A.
With last weeks games the season has finally ended for the U14 boys in Dallas Classic League.  Solar Red took the fall title with a surprising DFW Tejanos squad right behind in 2nd place.  Solar Red was no surprise but the Tejanos snuck up on everyone.  While Solar Red has always played a very attractive, technical possession game from U11 the Tejanos were known more as a team of a couple of top flight players but little depth.  That depth was obviously addressed in the offseason and now the team has some quality to go along with their top players.
1. Solar Red 22
2. DFW Tejanos 20

After the top two there is a logjam amongst the next five.  Only 3 points separate 3rd place from 7th place so one win in the spring could greatly effect these midling squads standing.
3. Barcelona 15
4. Dallas Texans Red 14
5. FC Dallas 13
6. Andromeda 12
7. Solar 12
The Dallas Texans were disappointing in the fall winning only 4 of their 9 games.  A Hassan coached team definitely expects more and we'll look to the spring to see if they can turn it around. Luckily, even with the disappointing results they are still in 4th place with the parity in the league.  Solar is another team that expected better.  Seventh place is not your typical showing from a Solar squad.  Andromeda is another team that has a quality coach and should be looked upon as dangerous in the spring.

The last 3 teams will fight it out in the spring to stay out of the bottom 2 and a trip to 2nd division.
8. FC Dallas South 8
9.  DFW Tornados 5
10 Dallas Texans Red West 5
Interestingly enough all three of these teams were able to end the season on good results giving hope for the spring.  FC Dallas South was able to knock off Barcelona while DFW Tornados upset Andromeda.  Dallas Texans Red West was able to tie big brother Dallas Texans as well.

It should be a very entertaining spring season.  Who will win the Solar Red-Tejanos fight for the title?  Will any of the middle 5 teams be able to catch Solar Red and DFW Tejanos to get into that top group?  Who will the fight to stay in the league next year between the bottom three?
